Overview AdventureQuest 3D OverviewAdventureQuest 3D is a fantasy MMORPG and the sequel to the 2D browser RPG AdventureQuest, evolving two dimensions into three. Players are not tied to a single class, but can change between unlocked classes at any time; from Warrior to Mage or Necromancer to Paladin, players are given the freedom to decide what class works best in the moment. Explore the world of Lore, brimming with terrifying dragons, undead hordes, and colorful magic. Play the same character from multiple devices on the go, whether on your Android phone, tablet, iPhone, or on a Mac computer.
Weird cause i just went to what is Adventure Quest world. And imo i think this one is better first its in 3D looks way better but whats good about aqw? I think AQW is the epitome of the whole gameplay versus graphics discussion. To begin with, it has the advantage of age. It has more content, likely more players and a much deeper pool of lore.
Gameplay is designed to be experienced in quick bursts, allowing players to make the time pass as they wait on line. Party up with your friends with an easy system that lets players group with only two quick taps to summon or be summoned by a friend. Even players who aren't the same level will be able to dungeon crawl together thanks to automatic 'side-kicking,' boosting player levels to match when in a party. Even old weapons have a use in AdventureQuest 3D.

Full Review AdventureQuest 3D ReviewBy, Marc MarasiganThe following is an Early Access review and subject to change when the game is fully released.AdventureQuest 3D is a cross-platform MMORPG which can be played on PC/Mac, Android, and iOS devices. The game is set in the medieval fantasy world of Lore where players take on the role of heroes tasked with defending Battleon, the last bastion of humanity, from a powerful evil entity.
AQ3D runs on the Unity Engine and features cartoony visuals in the same style as the first two AdventureQuest games, but now in 3D.Being a cross-platform game, Artix had to take into account the graphical and storage limitations of mobile devices (the mobile-friendly interface should be evidence enough). Unfortunately, this means that the game has less than stellar graphics for a PC title. While the trademark AdventureQuest arts does have its charms, more so for fans of the series, the game lacks the graphical fidelity players expect from a 2016 MMORPG. To be fair, the game is a mere 54 MB download, and there’s only so much you can do with a game of that size. The same can be said of the game’s generic-sounding audio.
One Slot Is All You GetLike most MMORPG’s, players create their characters before setting off into the game world. Unlike typical MMORPG’s, players only get one slot —which means no more alts for you buddy. Players can freely switch between classes so they can still try out every class in the game. Currently, players only have access to three classes: Warrior (Tank), Mage (Glass Cannon), and Rogue (Dodgy DPS), with additional classes planned for future updates. Players can also purchase a premium class called the Guardian, a dragon knight. Like previous AdventureQuest games, players only get a limited number of preset options that they can use to customize their characters.
They can, however, play around with hair colors as much as they like which, surprisingly the game has plenty of options for. Noobs Beware, You’re In For A ScareIn the words of the Zorbak himself, “What’s worse than a zombie eating your entire family? Tutorials!” You’ll get it when you start playing.
Be prepared to experience a bunch of comical cutscenes during your first few minutes in the game. In keeping with this motto, AdventureQuest 3D shies away from the typical playable tutorials enforced by most MMORPG’s. Instead, players get to figure things out for themselves.
And, there’s no mini-map, world map, or any kind of map either, so good luck finding your way around. The controls are easy enough to learn and follow the standard for more modern MMORPG’s. The WASD keys are used to move around, the LMB button to attack, the RMB button to rotate the camera, and number keys to trigger skills and abilities.
The Daily GrindAs far as MMORPG’s go AdventureQuest 3D is as basic as they come: no mounts, pets, companions, housing, or PvP. It’s worth mentioning that the game is still in open beta and the previously mentioned features are planned to be introduced at a later date. But even for an open beta AQ3D is seriously lacking.
Basically, all players can do right now is quest and craft.Players are given quests by NPC’s and then proceed to kill 10 of these and 30 of that before moving on to the next area; rinse and repeat. While this type of gameplay can be fun at first, it quickly turns into a never-ending grindfest. This might have been OK a decade ago but who, in this day and age, would have the patience, let alone the time, to kill 30 weird flying eyeballs.
In just the starting zone alone, I’ve killed hundreds of mobs for their bones, wings, and eyes that it’s a wonder that PETA hasn’t come after me. AQ3D’s crafting system also encourages more grinding.
A typical crafting recipe requires 30-40 of a specific monster’s drop, 10-20 of a rarer drop (usually from the same monster), a boss drop, and a few hundred gold pieces, which, by the way, is even harder to come by than the drops themselves. Plus, crafting items requires the player to wait a certain amount of time to complete, much like upgrading structures in or waiting to harvest your crops in Farmville. AQ3D’s tab-targetting combat system doesn’t help break the monotony either. ProgressionConsidering all the killing and questing that players have to go through, leveling up in AdventureQuest 3D still takes a while. Getting to level 5 alone will take about 2 hours on average, which is probably for the best considering that the current level cap is 15.Leveling up progressively increases a character’s base stats and also gives them access to better equipment. A necessity if you plan on having a fighting chance against the hard-hitting mobs of Lore. Most of which can prove to be a bit of a challenge, even ones at par with your level.
Good thing players can gang up on a single mob and still get the kill along with the gold and experience points that come with it. Here’s a quick tip: Expect to die—a lot. Mainly because there's no shortcut for potions which take two clicks to trigger.
Dragon CoinsAdventureQuest 3D doesn’t have a regular cash shop. Players have the option to purchase the premium Guardian class which gives them access to the Guardian Tower and special quests for their class, along with unique weapons and armor sets.Aside from the Guardian class, players can also use real-world money to purchase Dragon Coins which they can then use to buy weapons and gear instead of crafting them. While this system isn’t necessarily pay-to-win it does give paying players a faster way of acquiring gear, which in turn, reduces the amount of time spent grinding.
Final Verdict – FairThere’s been a fair amount of hype surrounding AdventureQuest 3D in the months leading up to its open beta launch, particularly the ability to play across a multitude of devices with just one account. Unfortunately, the game didn’t live up to expectations with its poor graphics, generic sounds, and overly simple and grindy gameplay. That being said, I do like the distinct artwork and comical humor in the game.
Both of which have been trademarks of the AdventureQuest series. AdventureQuest 3D comes off as more of a mobile port rather than a true cross-platform game. Unless you’re a fan of the series, you’ll probably be better off checking out the myriad of other free-to-play MMORPG’s out in the market today.
